Filling Up My New Fish Tank

I have just inherited some things from my great uncle and among the items was a medium sized fish tank that nobody else seemed to want. It has been empty for some time but I have checked and it is still watertight so given that I have the space in my flat and I’ve always liked looking at tropical fish, I thought why not create a little community of fish.

Now buying fish is far from something I am knowledgeable in so I made my way to the local garden centre which also has a tropical fish store in it. I admitted my lack of experience to one of the salespeople and he was kind enought to take 15 minutes explaining to me the options I had.

In the end he suggested a suitable mix of fish species for the size of my tank and the fact that I am a beginner. I have now got the tank up and running and so far so good – none of the fish have died on me and they all appear to be happily swimming about. The tank really adds a nice feature to my flat too so I’m pretty pleased with the result.

When my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I told him the only thing that I wanted was a really nice mattress pad. He thought I was joking but I was dead serious. I wake up every single morning in a grumpy mood because I tossed and turned all night long.
